One-Day Workshops

What is it?

Our free one-day Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshops are designed to help transitioning military personnel veterans and their partners learn about starting their own business.

Held in military communities across Canada, workshops are conducted by our Entrepreneur-in-Residence and supported by a variety of educators and entrepreneurs from the local area.

In just one day you can learn:

    • how military skills can be transferred to business ownership

    • how to evaluate business ideas

    • components of business planning like marketing and startup costs

    •  how to access free resources online and in your community

    • where to network with other entrepreneurs

One-day workshops are open to all CAF members, veterans, reservists and their families.

Join us to explore all the options for your next career move.

What to expect?

Our workshops are a full day, packed with learning and run from 09:00 to 16:00. Lunch and snacks are provided.

In the morning, you’ll see how your military skills can transfer to business ownership and what characteristics make for a good entrepreneur. We look at where good business ideas come from and how to know if you’re on the right track. We’ll introduce you to free local resources readily available to help you along the way.

In the afternoon we concentrate on some fundamental elements of small business ownership such as marketing and cash flow basics.

You’ll end the workshop knowing if entrepreneurship is right for you and have a clearer idea of what your next steps could be.
